Try browsing with altavista or google for folk + music + cheshire. Here are some sites I found (and used when I had to spend a week in Chesire)

http://freespace.virgin.net/p.hood/folky.htm
http://www.brightbell.com/folk/
http://realukmusic.hostinguk.com/realukmusic/local/livelc.htm
http://web.ukonline.co.uk/martin.nail/regional.htm
http://www.folkandroots.co.uk/Venues_North_West.html
http://www.folkinfo.org/events.asp

I visited "Folk at the Prospect" in Runcorn, "Ring o' Bells Folk Club" in Widnes, "Railway Folk Club" in Lymm and "The Bulls Head" in Mobberly. There is loads of stuff going on in Chesire and the surrounding counties and if you have a car then you are bound to find something every night. Once you have found a venue, use yell (looking for pubs) and you will be able to find most of the postcodes you need. Stick the postcode into multimap and then you will be able to get a map of the areas. You could even use the AA web site to get directions from where you are staying.

Have a great time enjoying the music and real ale.
