Guess what I got for my day-after-birthday present? Another blown NIC card in the G4 thanks to some nasty weather while we were sitting in Louis Killen's lap and listening to him sing. (I thought I took care of ALL the angles -- unplugged computer from UPS device, unplugged cable modem -- didn't disconnect the ethernet cable. Sigh.) That's THREE NIC CARDS in the past 9 months. What this means is I'm back on sloooooooooow dial-up until the card's replaced. (And I had hoped that would be this afternoon.)

Anywho, it was lobster stew for dinner last night (while watching the low patches of fog on Great Bay and lightning in the distance) at a seafood restaurant that offers ten bucks off to the birthday person. I get my REAL birthday lobster on Sunday. (It's way too expensive to order boiled lobster out; much better to eat it at home.) Yeah, and I like the green stuff and the red stuff, too.

The concert was lovely -- as usual. Have missed having Lou around on a regular basis since he moved back to England.

Tom gave me irises and some of the best commercially prepared loukoomi I've ever eaten. Well, and the lobster stuff, too. And an interesting bottle of drinkables. And, of course, the best birthday present of all -- him ALIVE and healthy (though healing).
