I hope you've noticed how close Beer in Devon is to Sidmouth - you can walk there along the coastal path, and it's all part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast site.
On the CD (recorded by El Greko) of the Herga club's 40th birthday party last year, Mac McKay sings the song about the Benskins Brewery (Watford) worker who fell into the vat and drowned. The chorus goes "In the beer, beer, loverly beer, up to his neck in great barrels of beer." I think the song was written by Colin Dipper - then a resident singer at the club, and father of John (of Patterson, Jordan, Dipper and No Man's Band).
