Folk Songs belong to the people and as such should be sung as the singer feels they want to sing them. There has to be a note of caution added that the original thread of the song must not be lost. To loose that would be to rewrite the tradition. having said that we only have the colectors word for the authenticity of the Song in the first place.The same rule must also apply to tunes and without getting too political. How many tunes are changed to suit the melodeon and bodrhan. Keith
