Stan Rogers was one of those songwriters who can make a song sound a century old the moment it's published. The song is only twenty or thirty years old, but it has a timeless quality to it. I just wish it fit into my vocal range a little better. It's a tough song to sing well.
It might be worth your while to search the database and forum for Franklin and Northwest Passage to see what else has been sung about Franklin's voyage.
