Actually, Mark, we did try the upgrade route and nothing (apparently) changed. Then we uninstalled Zone Alarm and downloaded it from the site again. Still no change.

The good news is that the apparent loss of internet connection seems to be happening less often than when it first started about a week ago.

We'll try an e-mail to Zone Alarm next, as Don suggested.
