I'm Guilty !

I change songs not only to suit my taste, but often been caught altering the music because I could'nt hear a certain chord. Later hearing it done like the originator and realizing I've been doing it wrong. Oddly enough, I have gotten good comments how they liked it done differently. If some one had convinced me that I had to sing and play the song like Woody Guthrie did, I'd have given up years ago. If you feel good about singing, just sing them and don't worry about the traditional values and music cops. Traditional singers work very hard to preserve the styles and sounds of their music. I'm glad it's something that is preserved, it has its merits but to change a song to your liking has even greater merits if that is your motivation to sing the song. Just SING.
