Winthrop, the breeding grounds of the Parsimonious Nuthatch were, as you must be aware, innundated by heavy rains and flooding early this year. As a result, many of the nests were destroyed and the breeding cycle reset to compensate for the loss. You'll find them breeding like crazy down around South Padre Island, their little hormones all a-twitter with the second big PN orgy of the year. (Some of the ornithologists in Texas have expressed concern that their little hearts can't stand so much excitement twice in one year.)
