After [New Yorker reporter Ken] Auletta observed an Oval Office interview Bush gave to a British tabloid, he spoke with the President about a mutual friend, Martin Gibson, a former musician, with Bush. Gibson, a vigorous proponent of human rights, has often been criticized by liberal friends, for supporting the President. "Martin is great," Bush said, and then added, "No President has ever done more for human rights than I have."
