A couple of years ago, Australia were playing the Oll Blecks in Sydney on the first Saturday night of the month. Being a loyal folkie, I went to the folk club run by rich-joy and her little mate Paul the Gnome on the first Saturday night of the month.
Not being entirely silly, I drove up to Maleny early so I could watch the first half in the pub. I then tore myself away from a very close match to go to the folk club - and found that Paul the Gnome wasn't even there because he had fiddled tickets to the game and was in Sydney watching it!
