Subject: RE: BS: Any good food pubs in Castleton area?
They all do food if I remember rightly, Nick. We had a party of 30 or so in one many years ago but unfortunateley I can't remember which:-( The Cheshire Cheese is just on the edge of the village and may appreciate the custom but I an only guessing. There is a Robinsons pub that used to keep their beer realy well, including the lethaly strong draught Old Tom!
Trouble is with Castleton is Summer is that it is so busy. Nags Head or the Church (possibly called the Jolly Rambler - it varies) at Edale across the ridge may be quieter? And there is a rail service to Edale to boot. (Pun intended!) May even see the folk or blues train from Manchester or Sheffield if you are lucky:-)
