Dear Ron:
I am more than insulted by the contention that I am begging to be on anyone's program. The quality of my music is public record as is the degree to which I am overlooked by various venues. At times I remind folks I am out here, playing music that reflects my activism on matters of American democracy where I don't see many "progresive" folk faces. I made no alligations about Steve stealing musicians, and I assure you I am not writing under the name John Hernandez. As to joining folk clubs ... there is just so much time in the day and I have no money to join clubs, I don't have mony for health insurenence or food some days. Look, I don't give a damn if there are cliques or not or why they exist or seem to exist. Some good folks like John and Randi notice that the same folks get called to play again and again and others don't.
