Thread Name: Lyr Req: Don't Cry Joni (Conway Twitty)
Subject: Lyr Req: The Tears They Fell Like Rain
This song must have been popular about 25 years ago, about a young girl who had a crush on an older boy. He thought she was too young for him, but later on after he moved away, he realized how much he loved her. When he finally returned, he found that she was married to his best friend. The first lines of the chorus were " Jimmy won't you wait for me; We'll be married, don't you see; Saving all my kisses just for you". That is all I remember of the words. The girl sang the chorus and the boy sang the narrative stanzas. The girl sings the final stanza when she tells him that she married his best friend, John, in his absence. SOL ZELLER
