Be mine, sweet muse, that I might hold you near
And not think that I must soon let you go.
I want you in my arms: Should I make clear
How much I want your love? Words do not show
All that you mean, nor how heart aches to feel
The touch of skin, and warmth of my desire.
I long to trace all of your curves, to seal
All of you into heart, and dreams inspire.
Could lips tell more than pen? I would kiss try
To longings speak: How could I passions hold
From life, and action? Could dreams hope to fly
To one who all of dreams has to heart told?
You are the one that heart would passions give,
But can I tell of hopes, and let dreams live?
