Thread Name: BS: 'F9/11' ratings: Canada vs US
Subject: BS: 'F9/11' ratings: Canada vs US
More of the now surrealistic manipulations to censor this film in the US are exposed by this story from the Calgary Sun:

"American teenagers can't see Michael Moore's controversial new movie without an adult. But Alberta teenagers can. Moore and his distributors lost their appeal yesterday to lower the R rating in the U.S. for Fahrenheit 9/11, his scathing assault on President Bush's actions before and after the Sept. 11 attacks.

But the documentary, which opens in North American theatres on Friday, received a 14A rating in this province from the Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta film review boards.

The 14A rating here prohibits only those 13 and younger from seeing Fahrenheit 9/11 without an adult, while the R rating in the U.S. prohibits those 17 and younger from seeing the movie without an adult."
