Sonnet 29/03/04                           CMI

I want to reach out to my muse, but fear
I would not have will to ever let go.
Shall I risk heart, that I might hold her near,
When I've no reason that she should love show?
Shall I dream of my muse, and love return
For all her smiles? What would she want of me,
When I can give no thing that dreams not earn
From hope, and cannot hope to her eyes see?
Can I tame passions and chain my desire,
To harness heart to reason? Could I feel
That she is just vision that dreams inspire,
And I should not think I might make dreams real?
I dare not ask for heart's desire, to spend
Some time with muse, that she might my heart mend.
