Thread Name: Jingles you remember.
Subject: RE: Jingles you remember.
"Chamber's caskets" is getting regularly sung at pub sessions in Sydney as well as by the Roaring Forties, one of Australia's great shanty singing ensembles.
As to memorable jingles;

I'm louis the fly, I'm Louis the fly,
Straight from rubbish tip to you.
Spreading disease with the greatest of ease,
Straight from rubbish tip to you.
I'm bad, I'm mean, I'm mighty unclean,
Afraid of no-one..
But the man with the can of Mortein.
Hate that word mortein.
(various choking and dying in agony noises)
One spray and Louis the fly-
Apple of his old mother's eye was louis,
Poor, dead Louis,
Louis the fly,
A victim of Mortein.

Performed with the right roaring-twenties gangster movie touch, it was perhaps Australia's zaniest ad.
Two that have stuck when I would prefer to have long forgotten them were;

"You'll look a little lovelier each day,
With fabulous pink Camay"
I hope the soap has ceased to exist.

The other- sang to the Toreador's song:

Use a Rolla door,
That's what it's for,
You'll get much more,
With a Rolla door,
A hundred and forty nine stock sizes,
Each is custom made,
DO NOT BE AFRAID!
Dependable as a clock,
The door with the centre lift lock,
You'll get much more with Rolla door.

There are others equally appalling, but those two are the most bubble gum- like for adhesion to inside surfaces of the brain.
