There's an assumption here that all people who do "unpleasant" animal experiments are sadists. Some probably are. It's also said that many surgeons are sadists who like to see the blood flow. Surgeons do necessary work. Some animal researchers must do also. To insist that all "vivisectionists" or all surgeons are sadists is insane. Irrational, at the very least.
