Bat Goddess is right about the horseradish - gives it extra oomph. A small measure of dry sherry also helps - nothing sweet, but a nice Fino or Amontillado gives more depth to the alcoholic part of the drink. Go easy though - BMs (and proper Martinis) are like breasts - one's not enough, and three are excessive!
