I used to love this site because
No matter what the topic
Friends just talked to friends
Now, we're more myopic

And most of us can't see too well
Without our reading glasses
But it's difficult to put them on
With our heads jammed up our asses

Mine's been there - I know it has
When I have not been happy
People seem like idiots
And the world itself looks crappy

Posts examined for excuses
To get panties in a bunch
And indulge our inner brats
And have someone's heart for lunch

And though things are looking somewhat dim
I've heard a little rumor
That someone, somewhere 'round this place
Still has a sense of humor

I shall try to join the race
And with humor, face each hurdle
And my head will joyfully emerge
Like a backwards sort of turtle

And if someone criticises me
And says I write bad verse
I'll grin and say "If I try, I might
Be able to do worse!"

Or if someone should take offense
And my poetry curse
I doubt they'll find something to say
I haven't thought of first

When the world, it seems too serious
I'll sit and think a while
And look for the absurdity in life
And with any luck, I'll smile
