That is correct Backstage Manager, and I did not bring that up because I believe the guest is speaking only about the interview portion which did not contain any other recorded music. In addition to recorded music, there are copyrights on the songs themselves which can come into issue.

Copyright and royalty issues are very complex. While the intentions are honorable, it is not a simple matter of slapping in a tape and hit record and then offering the result to the world.    Even at WFDU, we pay for the rights to BROADCAST the music, but we do not have the rights to make a tape of our own broadcast and issue it to the world.   We can receive artist permission for on-air performances and release CD's of that, but even that is a complex issue.
