· Shub-Niggurath, a.k.a. The Black Goat of the Woods with A Thousand Young, or Shupnikkurat and possibly Ishnigarrab.
· Usually refered to as female, but it might be male, or possibly even hermaphroditic.
· Personification of fertility, but not necessarily birth itself, and certainly not motherhood.
· Thought to live under the surface of Yaddith with her Dhole servants awaiting the return of her husband, Hastur.
· May also live underground beneath Arabia or even at the Court of Azathoth.
· Possibly the most widely spread worship of any being in the Mythos. She is / was worshipped by both Earthly cults, alien civilizations and extra-dimensional beings.
· Served by the a race of lesser beings called the Dark Young.
