I agree with many of your choices, Matai, but...not a single male songwriter on your entire list???? I thought that only some males suffered from this kind of gender-exclusive listening pattern, but I guess I was wrong. :-)

Seriously. I once asked several male friends to list the "ten greatest" songwriters they could think of between 1960 and 1980. Not one of them had any females on the list except me...and I'm male. I had 2 females on my list. If it was after 1980 I would've have more of them.

And how about Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter and Tish Hinojosa?
