I wonder if dreams are enough, to hold
My hopes from lonely death: I long to feel
The touch of skin, and know that warmth is real.
Yet, thought of you keeps heart from being cold:
Should I allow even my dreams so bold
A vision of desires? Might passions steal
Far more than needed to past heartaches heal?
Still, I'd give soul to muse in arms enfold.
I wonder if I ask too much, to find
In muse more than a friend: I hold you dear
Without a touch. But more than just your mind
Acts to attract my heart: If you were near,
I would not keep from reaching out. Resigned
To fate, I have but dream to hold back tear.
