Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,        
Some say in ice.        
From what I've tasted of desire        
I hold with those who favor fire.        
But if it had to perish twice,              
I think I know enough of hate        
To know that for destruction ice        
Is also great        
And would suffice.        

The great prophet William Miller predicted, correctly, that the world would end on 22 October 1844. It did, and the Millenium came and the Rapture came and all the rest happened. It's been over for nearly 160 years. However, humans are perverse and either didn't notice or chose to ignore it.
