If music was technique, then the best muscians would be technicians. I've heard too many musician get every note, but miss the song completely. I've heard technically marvelous guitarists painstakingly transcribe piano rags onto guitar and play them without a mistake. It just didn't sound like ragtime.

The best guitarist are equal parts technique and expressiveness. Unfortunately, there aren't any books or videos that teach you how to put feeling into music.
