Billericay's National Champion

Billericay Scrabble Club member Bob Flack has become the British Mensa's national Scrabble Champion. An IQ of 159 and studying the clubs lists of highest scoring words from the clubs monthly newsletters helped put Bob into the finals. Bob was invincible, easily beating all the competition in a best out of three games fina         


LEFT IN THE DARK

Powerful storms hit Essex and left many residents of Billericay without power and telephones lines.

The county of Essex almost grinded to a halt as many roads were blocked by fallen trees and motorists were urged to stay at home unless their trips were absolutely necessary when 90mph winds battered the county. Ramsden Heath, and Billericay amongst other towns and villages were forced to use candle light and gas appliances, with many households not having power restored for days.
