What we heard was "nice looking girl". It hardly seemed condescending as she's the one who brought up how she looks as a topic for discussion. What would you have Alex do, ignore what the contestant writes on her card for topics of interest about her? When you try out to be a contestant and make it past all the tests, they then ask you to fill out a card with some interesting things about yourself so Alex will have something to talk about with you.

As a person who has actually been there and competed, I must admit that it would be daunting to have to play against Ken Jennings. I came in second to someone who just had more knowledge than I. It didn't make me dislike him or the game. I just wish I'd been able to keep playing because I love the challange.
