Mick Saturday night: "I'm going to bed." I guess he believes in three hour warnings. Mick, I just thought you were too tired to tune. If I haven't yet said it, thanks for asking me to join you on stage. It took a lot of faith and willingness to forgive to do that. I was looking forward to meeting you. I was expecting a friendly big guy with a great sense of humor, a pleasant voice, and a huge love of the music and people in general. I apologize for underestimating you.It was a terrible thing to have to ride down there with Barry and David Diamond. I was forced to listen to them and sing along the whole way down. I had to listen to Barry talk about music and people the whole way back. Seriously Barry, thanks for letting me ride with you. I don't usually enjoy the trip very much, and the way down and back felt like part of the Getaway.
To be honest, I had what I thought were overblown expectations of what everyone was going to be like. Each and every one far surpassed them. You read thoughts and sometimes feelings here - you can't read talent, or hugs, or the smiles and winks in the spaces between the words.
