Basking in the afterglow of the FSGW Getaway and meeting face-to-face my many mudcat siblings, a very strong thought has emerged. The thought being … "We are part of the Mudcat Café family, but Max is the "Mudcat Cafe." Virtual reality gives us a feeling of widespread ownership and ability of just do whatever. T'ain't so folks. "Mudcat Café" is a corporation and, as such, has ownership over anything that carries the "Mudcat Café" name. It is, therefore, inappropriate to use the name "Mudcat Café" (or just "mudcat," as it applies to the "Mudcat Café") for any gatherings, promotional items, etc., without an "okay" from Max.

I truly don't think this is a "deliberate" problem, but, as stated above, we do have this sense of family and might just "forget" from time-to-time. I hope last summer's Mudcat Gatherings were "just the beginning" because they brought mudcatters together, most for the first time, and I'm sincerely hoping there will be more next summer. Let's all of us just remember that it's Max's home … and please take this gentle reminder in the vein in which it is written, a "gentle reminder" ... moonchild
