Subject: Lyr Add: EVERYTHING'S OK ON THE L.B.J.
This is a farewell song I pulled off AM radio (WJJD in Chicago when it was a country station) when Lyndon Johnson left the presidency of the U.S.A. and went home to his L.B.J. Ranch in Texas. I don't have any other info---like who wrote it or sang it. ________________________________________________________

"Everything's O.K. On The L.B.J."

When they said goodbye in Washington and Lyndon headed west,
He shook hands with Richard and wished him all the best,
Then he climbed into his Lincoln singin' as he rode away,
Everything's O.K. on the L.B.J.
He bought gas in West Virginia and was busy shaking hands
With the friends and neighbors of the service station man,
He stoppped over night in Nashville just to hear Chet Atkins play,
"Everything's O.K. on the L.B.J."

Meanwhile at the ranch in Texas lots of things were going on,
Lots of busy people bust talkin' on the phones,
Just before they broke connections you could hear a cowboy say,
"Everything's O.K. on the L.B.J.
They looked out and saw him coming and they all knew what to do,
Welcome home the boss man with a Texas bar-B-Q,
Someone started up the jukebox and they let the record play,
"Everything's O.K. on the L.B.J.

Now they're gonna make a movie and show you how it's done,
How our poor boy from Texas made good in Washington.
It starts out in Johnson City--then you see the U.S.A.,
Everything's O.K. on the L.B.J.
By the Perdonales River where the longhorn cattle roam,
Stands the little White House that is home sweet home,
Now the foreman's very happy 'cause the boss is home to stay,
Everything's O.K. on the L.B.J.
