Was this a waste treatment plant? It says that there was "jute and waste." How did the waste catch fire? -- I thought it was pretty damp and sloppy. How come, when the waste was burning, people didn't hold their noses and flee? I've smelled burning waste (pull the barrels out from the latrine, douse 'em with diesel fuel, toss a match) and it doesn't smell like either roses OR a good steak cooking.

Why did the guy keep waste in his building anyway? Didn't the health department object?
