Thread Name: Lyr ADD: When Morning Stands on Tiptoe
Subject: Lyr Add: WHEN MORNING STANDS ON TIPTOE
Another case of regional variations probably, as you say.

Well for the record, here's the version I know:

When morning stands on tiptoe, 'twixt mountain and sky (x2)
Oh how sweet it is to follow, oh how sweet it is to follow
Oh how sweet it is to follow the hounds in full cry

(Chorus:)
Echo, bright echo, the echoing horn
Echo, bright echo, the echoing horn
As she skims through the dew on a bright shining morn
We will follow the hounds with an echoing horn
Oh how sweet it is to follow the echoing horn

When glittering dewdrops the meadows adorn (x2)
Oh the bright smiling dewdrops…… (x3)
They spangle in the morn

All nature's so charming, so pleasant is the morn   (x2)
We will all join together…… (x3)
At the sound of the horn

When Puss rose from cover, 'twas early in the morn (x2)
Oh how sweet it is to follow…… (x3)
At the sound of the horn

Funny - can't recall where I got this text exactly, but I think it was Firm Friends I heard sing it first, and someone else sang it at the Ryburn club and Barnsley Easter Sing a couple of years back. I'll prod the memory later - need a beer!
