So, you are saying is that a song that is not in your own dialect is not worth understanding? Hearing a dialect being spoken and reading a dialect are not the same thing... Very often, I can perfectly understand a song which is written in some dialect. You know, there ARE things like dictionaries (for instance a Scots dictionary).

And do you really think that 'folk process' and 'oral transmission' are the same thing? They aren't, really. Agreed, folk music is very focused on passing through songs, "keeping the tradition alive" and such. But who ever said that the only proper way to do this is orally?
