All day I have been thinking that in the blind watchmaker, Richard Dawkins met the test above to describe in a meaningful way how the inert physical universe somehow became the original source of all conscious life happened. (At least he does when you're reading it. A few weeks later after reading it, I inevitably forget how, and am required to read it again.) It is his best book, in my opinion.
