Just looking this up in my illustrated encyclopedia... erm, lots of diagrams and cross-sections of swells and knobs ... can't see "male" organ ....

.....could that be the "Swell organ" or "great organ" or "choir organ" lost in translation maybe?

Ah! Vis size question .. there's a "Tuning slide to vary length of pipe when tuning" but in fact, briefly it all seems to be about controlling air intake - thus output - by stops and knobs, and slides, grooves, flues, pipes, toe-pistons etc...

So, it's not the size of your organ that counts, it's what you do with it ie., being able to do 4 things simultaneously.
