to Suz with the stuck CD...can you open the CD player up...i.e., can you take the top and/or sides off? I have a single CD player and occasionally the CD gets stuck inside. Usually there are a few screws, maybe 4 or so that hold the covering over all the electronic goodies inside. Remove these screws and you have access (hopefully) to things like the carousel/trays, etc. You might be able to remove the stuck CD.

I have also removed stuck games from PlayStation and stuck DVD's from DVD players the same way. Just open it up and see.
