Thanks for the tip, Bobert. I would certainly be able to supply my serial number and the name of the (long-defunct) music store where it was purchased, so I might as well try for a Certificate of Ownership and the lifetime warranty that comes with it.

I dunno if I'd buy any guitar, even a "cheap" $400 Regal, via Ebay or from any mail-order source. I'd have to see it in person and put my hands on it first. Although, I suppose, you could just make sure you're able to return it and get your money back if you wish to do so for ANY reason.
