I should have said that the address numbers (such as 204 West 23rd) don't correspond to cross streets.

Train and bus fare is $2 a ride now. To go on the bus to the train to Manhattan is $4. It's an easy trip. But if you're nervous about it, there is a bus that goes straight from the airport to downtown Manhattan, runs about $15 now. You still have to get down to where you're staying from there.
