Max,

I thanked FSGW for the Getaway, it was pure joy. I have forgotten to thank you, Max (and I don't think I can overdo that). I thank you because these wonderful people we call Mudcatters would NEVER have gotten together if it had not been for your Mudcat Cafe. It is the common bond that has connected us for these oh so few years.

I know you just wanted to learn a little more about the blues, but like so many of our actions, your creation had unintended consequences. Fortunately, this time they were wonderful consequences.

I know I would not have ever been to the Getaway without the Mudcat (and I only live 50 miles from DC). And without the Mudcat I would not have gotten to spend an hour sharing worksongs and hollers with these people. It was the highlight of my weekend.
