They really looked good -- strong, healthy, milk-fed, shampooed and well-turned out, confident and smiling broadly. It ended right there, as with so many Bush products -- look good and never mind the substance. But talk about beauty being merely skin deep, the entire style of communication was thin gruel indeed, a kind of hollow heartiness, force with a smile painted on the front, like someone putting lipstick on the front end of an artillery shell, full of mindless destruction.
