The current extremist Republican worldview is this: government is the root of all evil, and wealthy people and corporations need relief from the burdens of supporting it through taxes.

Anything that can be done to make more people accept that mantra, including packaging and selling their young bimbettes at the product launch, or exploiting racist fundamentalist Christians with mental problems, is considered a reasonable way to hold onto power.

The Republicans haven't been the majority party since forever. You need to think about what that truly means. It means the nation is so disgusted with the Democrats for failing to lead the nation, that they are voting in these crooks who tell them what they want to hear: government is bad. But no one really believes government is bad. They think the Democrats are bad. And the Democrats have been the face of the government for most of the 20th century.

If someone new doesn't take control of the Democratic party, and soon, these crooks are going to destroy the government infrastructure, if they haven't already. But for that to happen, we have to have GOOD CANDIDATES. That isn't happening.
