There are certain fiddle tunes that I find my fingers just will not connect with my brain properly, and I just can't play them. All of the above mentioned tunes - McClouds Reel, Devils Dream, St.Annes, are not only all finger twisters, but also mind bogglers. What I really hate is that they are on most fiddler's playing lists in Canada, and I can never feel comfortable playing those tunes with anyone - I tend to just forget about those tunes, and as a result never practice them, so over the years they just deteriorate more instead of improve. -But there are lots of other good tunes out there!
