Hi Durham, if you're still here, I've got a bit of an oddball suggestion. Have you got "Pignose portable amps" where you are? It's a very small (about 8" by 10") amp that runs on a rechargeable battery. You could put a simple contact pickup on the guitar and run it through the pignose (which can sit almost invisible at your feet) with just enough gain on it to give you what you need.
