I read, about a month ago, that some etiquette book labelled breast-feeding, talking about your sex life and eating corn on the cob, as three things that must NEVER be done in public. Mostly because they were considered noisy and intrusive. Ummmm. Do the writers of etiquette books have a life? I see them living in some well carpeted and padded home far away from other people emerging once or twice a decade to enl;ighten us mere mortals on the terrible intricacies of civility as taught by rote not principle. To get back to the original quote for this thread. Yes.
