Mudlark: right you are.   In the musical area there is a song by Charlie King that might be of interest---to the melody of the 12 Days of Christmas---The 12 Days of Invasion.

Again---shades of Wag the Dog---though this piece really hits you on the head with the lies one for each day. They ran out of days I guess
