good money though, I was getting over 5 pounds an hour, [that was a lot of money in them days!]

I worked in a few slaughterhouses, including Oakland, D.Marks [that place got shut down by the goverment inspecters], and Cranswick etc.

slaughter place job can be good fun, ie= you can throw ded animals heads at people [packing girls] for a laugh, and put turkey haeds on their head, and they don't find out till later [thats called pracical joke].
