Like I said, it would be very helpful to know if Jim is a new employee, and new to working in education, because it sounds to me as if he is. Experience employees rarely give this a second thought, especially at the beginning of a new school year, when we repeat the same instructions a hundred times a day and then some. It gets better later in the semester, as I said, but the beginning of the year is an adjustment for everyone, even the old dogs.
