Just spotted another old thread where someone asked about this song. It would have helped if Hildebrand had given it a name from the start, but he never did.
Steve Goodman usually called it "Chicago Bust Rag".
It's also been called "The Great Chicago Pot-Bust".
Hildebrand sometimes calls it, facetiously, "Officer Rigoni to the Rescue, or How the People of the State of Illinois Saved Me from Myself."
I'm so glad I don't have to sort out these tangled threads. Joy
