I started this in response to another thread. I think people can respond without a flame war. Hope so. Figure that with all the views here and all the philosophies, people may be able to arrive at something resembling a conclusion within a few years. Maybe the conclusion will be that there can be no conclusion. The religious/political stuff permeates the various threads anyway.

Also, I tried to change the title before posting to read "Non-official Mudcat Prayer" but I see it didn't happen. Please feel free to delete this thread if it become accrimonious--and if I have got that wrong, remember that it's a poor individual who can only find one way to spell a word.

Sorry. I didn't see this before I started the thread. Didn't realize that the normally complacent and understanding people on the 'cat would feel attacked by a thread of this nature. Please have the thread deleted with my blessing.
